“La Visita” (working title), the new Peeping Tom project, commissioned and produced by Fondazione I Teatri, in collaboration with Collezione Maramotti and Max Mara, in partnership with Frans Brood Productions, Nexo Digital and KMSKA-The Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp has been shortlisted for the Fedora – Van Cleef & Arpels Prize for Ballet 2021.
“La Visita” (working title) is a site specific project that will bring Peeping Tom’s theatricality, disruption and surrealism into Collezione Maramotti, a private Contemporary Art Gallery based in Reggio Emilia, in the historic building of the Max Mara headquarters. Collezione Maramotti collaborates since 2009 with Fondazione I Teatri to present site specific performances commissioned to some of the most significant contemporary choreographers. The performance will be staged next autumn in the frame of Aperto Festival, dedicated to contemporary music, dance and performing arts.
Peeping Tom, through the relation with the artworks, and portraying what usually remains hidden, will take the audience into a parallel mental world.
FEDORA, the European platform that supports and promotes innovation among Opera and Ballet has established the Fedora Prizes in order to support new artistic production in the Opera, Ballet, Digital and Education Categories. In the 2021 edition the artistic projects shortlisted are 34 (9 opera, 9 ballet, 6 digital and 10 educational), from 20 countries, involving 110 organizations and cultural partners and over 200 artists.
A jury of experts will nominate three projects out of each category, giving them the opportunity to promote a fundraising campaign in the spring of 2021 on the FEDORA platform. A fourth project, the one chosen by the audience’s vote, will have the chance to access to the fundraising campaign.
“La Visita” competes for the FEDORA VAN CLEEF & ARPELS for Ballet, which awards productions that are able to reimagine dance for the 21st century, in terms of creation, production and delivering; that are experimental, innovative and involve emerging artists; that have the ambition to reach new international audiences.
You can vote for the project by clicking on the page “Peeping Tom /La Visita” on Fedora’s website until 26th February
