Max Mara Atelier
The coat takes centre stage at Max Mara Atelier and is given a sartorial and opulent interpretation in this special project.
The collection, composed of seventeen styles all realized in Manifattura di S. Maurizio, conveys a sophisticated image.
Sinuous and sculptural cuts architecturally define the female form or simply hint at it. Small, stand up collars accompany the curve of her neck or are cut to draw attention to her décolletage. Clever darts define her waistline; little ruches add movement. There are some constants, almost the key for understanding the project: the knee-length, 3/4 sleeves brushing against the elbows, and a range of classic colours from camel to black, including grey and with touches of red.
This spirit is also evident in the choice of fabrics – double cashmere, baby camel, sealskin-look alpaca, double twill, bouclé tweed, silk duchesse, combed satin, triple wool and silk organza - and the clever use of details and finishes: sophisticated embroidery, appliqué, opulent linings – in duchesse, organza over satin or silk Moiré.
