Giulia Maramotti Foundation
The Giulia Maramotti Foundation, named after the mother of the Knight of Labour Achille Maramotti, was established in 1994 with the aim of supporting, promoting and managing projects for young people in the education, training and cultural education sectors.
Most of these initiatives are characterised by the will to transfer to new generations the technical and professional know-how of the fashion sector and to develop innovative methods for the application of creativity to fashion design.
More than 500 youngsters have been involved in these activities and have found work in companies in the fashion sector operating in Emilia Romagna.
At the same time, the Foundation has always supported and still supports cultural initiatives such as seminars, publications, study activities, research and exhibitions, and at the beginning of 2008 it also created the "Giulia Maramotti" infant-toddler centre.
Highlights
Giulia Maramotti Study Prize
The Soroptimist International Club of Reggio Emilia, appointed by the “Giulia Maramotti” Foundation, runs an annual competition to award six prizes to students of the “Galvani” Professional Institute and the “Chierici” State Art Institute, who are outstanding for the proficiency and quality of their work.
The subject of the competition for the academic year 2009-2010 is “New Collection”: the participants are required to design 2 window images (4 outfits each) for the Autumn-Winter 2010 season.
